Subject: Skid Loader Lease for Facility Operations

Background & Rationale: The District currently owns a skid loader that is approximately 23 years old. The unit was used when purchased 15 years ago, is in poor shape and in need of repairs. The repairs to stop the hydraulic fluid leaks will cost nearly $16,000.00, with the current value of the skid loader below $5,000.00. Additional repairs will be required in the forseeable future. With the mounting costs, and the relativley low hours of use, it makes sense to lease a skid loader, thereby being able to budget for this expense.
Budget to be Charged: Facility Operations
Motion: I move the Board of Education approve the lease of a skid loader from KC Bobcat (Berry Companies, Inc) for the yearly amount of $5,313.24 for a 5 year lease total of $26,566.20.
