Note: Of the 7 schools Blue Ridge bids came in higher than originally estimated due to the previously unknown deterioration of the roof. Originally we were going to do a small section of the roof. However, core samples indicated the majority of the roof was wet and needed replacing.
Additionally, Fleetridge bids originally came in higher than expected due to an addition of metal fascia work noted in the bid. The metal work was removed and bidders were asked to then submit a best and final bid. This dramatically dropped the cost to now below the estimated cost.
Roofing Cost by Building:
Blue Ridge: $547,032; Flynn Midwest LP
Fleetridge: $219,650; Kirberg Company
New Trails: $97,700; Kirberg Company
Norfleet: $93,860; Kirberg Company
South High: $135,000; Cornell Roofing
South Middle: $392,500; Quality Roofing
Three Trails: $860,000, Quality Roofing
Overall, the total package of roofing projects came in lower than estimated.

I move that the Board of Education approve Flynn Midwest LP to roof Blue Ridge Elementary; Kirberg Company to roof Fleetridge Elementary, New Trails Preschool, and Norfleet Elementary; Cornell Roofing and Sheet Metal to roof Raytown South High School; and Quality Roofing to roof South Middle School and Three Trails Preschool at a cost of $2,345,742.00 plus a 10% contingency of $234,574.00 for a total potential cost of $2,580,316.00.
